We can’t get enough of this amazing couple and their stunning wedding. From the perfect venue to an adorable ring bearer, this wedding has it all! Keep reading to hear what Stephenie had to say about their wedding!
1. Do you have any sweet or quirky stories about how you and your husband met/ got engaged?
Even though James and I attended to the same high school, but since he was a senior and I was a freshman, we didn’t actually meet until years later while he was attending Iowa State University. Our love for the Cyclones brought us together while we were tailgating for a football game.
As far as our engagement, it happened a week before our 6 year anniversary. He kept talking about taking a quick weekend getaway trip for our anniversary and in the back of my mind I was wondering if he was going to pop the question on this trip he wanted to take. But nope, he ended up surprising me at home a week before with the engagement which included our black lab Nova. We when took the weekend trip together for our anniversary and celebrated our engagement!
2. What was your favorite part of planning your wedding?
My favorite part about planning our wedding was just being able to spend so much time with our families, our wedding party and each other; doing things that all revolved around James and I’s love for each other. We had such great support from everyone which made the planning process so fun.
3. How would you describe the “vibe” of your wedding?
The vibe of our wedding was definitely fun and down to earth. We really wanted the vibe of the whole wedding to reflect us and how we love having fun together. I can’t thank our DJ enough for helping set that tone for our reception and keeping things going with the games he included and the music he played. The dance floor was busy the entire night and everyone was just having fun together.
4. Tell us about your favorite parts of your dress shopping experience.
I loved the experience of dress shopping because I was able to try on such gorgeous dresses! Even though you only end up choosing one, it is so fun being able to try others on. Hands down my favorite part about the dress shopping experience was the feeling of finding “the one”. They always say you will know which dress is the one the moment you try it on and that is exactly what happened for me when I tried my dress on. It was amazing, I didn’t want to take the dress off! It’s always so fun being able to stand up in front of the huge mirrors Pure Bridal has and see the dress on.
5. How did you find find most of your wedding vendors?
I would say half of my wedding vendors that I found came from word of mouth and having a couple family friends who used those vendors for their weddings. And then the other half came from our venue, Baqara Reclaimed’s “Vendors you will love” list. We were very fortunate and ended up having the best vendors to work with!
