Nothing makes us happier than seeing two people in love… our beautiful bride, Peyton and her groom, Jonathan, radiate their adoration for each other in every photo. We can’t get enough!
Here is what Peyton had to say about their wedding:
1. Do you have any sweet or quirky stories about how you and your husband met/ got engaged?
“My husband and I met in college at a party. I was introduced to him as ‘Big Jon’ since he was the tallest guy in his fraternity. We ended up talking for 3 hours that night and had our first date at Taco Bell later that evening and it all went from there! He proposed to me with a picnic overlooking one of the lakes we loved to hammock/hike at in Springfield, MO. He was very practical (typical Jon) and made us turkey sandwiches, which I thought was sweet and quite funny for a romantic proposal night.”
2. What was your favorite part of planning your wedding?
“My favorite part of planning the wedding was picking out the flowers and flavors of cake! I love flowers, so I had a lot of fun picking out the colors and varieties with my mom and sister. For the cake, my parents bought a bunch of cupcakes and brought them on a trip to visit me at college. We sat around my apartment table with one of my male friends from school and tasted/ranked each one for at least two hours! I do not have much of a creative personality, and planning is not always my strong suit, as I am more of a last minute, go with the flow type of person, so I mostly helped pick out aspects of décor that I liked while my mom was the mind behind the design! I simply followed her orders when she needed help making decorations, packing, and with set up the night before!”
3. How would you describe the “vibe” of your wedding?
“The vibe of my wedding was elegant but still very inviting and natural. Light and airy settings with natural colors and candles always make me feel at home, so my venue was perfect for that. I wanted guests to feel at ease with space to move about so that they could just enjoy the night, eat, drink and celebrate with us!”
4. Tell us about your favorite parts of your dress shopping experience:
“I only tried on 6 dresses before finding the one I wore on my wedding day. It was funny, because the style I chose was nothing like what I had pictured for myself. I had never worn a full skirted A line dress before, and I had through I would buy a dress that was more form fitting with sleeves! I liked the dress, it went well with the venue and veil I loved, and it didn’t hurt that it was on sale! I found it in about an hour with my mom and sister before I had to rush off to summer physics class! If I could go back, I think I would have shopped longer and tried more on just for the experience of it!”
5. How did you find most of your wedding vendors?
“Most of my vendors I found through searching online as well as in local magazines. I was ecstatic about the choices of my vendors. My hair, makeup, photography, venue/catering and floral arrangements were wonderful and the ladies who ran these businesses would absolutely delightful.”
