Kate + Tom

The instant Kate and Tom tagged us on Instagram, I knew I found my next featured wedding. You can’t help smile as you look through all their photos… their love for each other is absolutely goals. I adore the effortless, boho feel of their wedding, with a touch of rustic. Not to mention, all the unique details… That unity beer during the ceremony?! #YESPLEASE

Here is what Kate had to say about their wedding:

1. Do you have any sweet or quirky stories about how you and your husband met/ got engaged?

The day after we first met, Tom called his mom and told her that he knew I was “the one.” I’m not sure how he knew, but he was right! We both have always loved the outdoors and being in the mountains, so Tom proposed during a family trip to Rocky Mountain National Park at Bear Lake. He is a photographer, so he told me that we were going to take pictures of the sunset. After he got his camera set up on his tripod, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes, and we got our own photos of the proposal!

2. What was your favorite part of planning your wedding?

My favorite part of planning the wedding was working together to make our own place cards for the reception. Tom designed a template for us to use, and I cut everything out and folded them. Sometimes Tom would put random words on the place cards instead of the names of our guests so I would be caught off guard while cutting them out. It was fun to enjoy each other’s company and make each other laugh throughout the process!

3. How would you describe the “vibe” of your wedding?

I would describe the vibe of our wedding as boho casual. We are very laid back people and wanted to incorporate our love of the outdoors, so we didn’t want our day to feel too formal because that’s just not us! We also decided to have some non traditional elements in our wedding like a unity beer during our ceremony. The whole day just felt very natural for us!

4. Tell us about your favorite parts of your dress shopping experience.

My favorite part of my wedding dress shopping experience was working with my consultant. I showed her a few pictures of the dress style I was thinking of and told her my budget, and she immediately thought of one that I would like. This was the first wedding dress I had ever tried on, and I ended up saying yes to that dress! I loved being there with my mom and sister, too, and I’m glad I got to share that moment with them.

5. How did you find most of your wedding vendors?

I found most of my vendors through The Knot app! We live in Colorado, so it was a bit of a challenge planning from afar, but The Knot made everything so easy. It was extremely helpful in planning for the big day!
